Web accessibility means access to the internet by everyone, regardless of disability. This means that people with disabilities (including visual impairment and physical limitations in using a mouse or keyboard) should be able to perceive, understand, navigate, and interact with web sites and online applications and that these should work well with the assistive technologies which some people with disabilities use to access the internet - such as screen readers, screen magnifiers and text-to-speech devices.

There are also options within your browser that can help you access web sites more easily and the most common ones are outlined below.
Access keys let you navigate around the website without using your mouse. They can be used to jump directly to different sections of the site or certain areas within a page.
|a||Go to the Accessibility page.|
|h||Go to the Home page.|
|s||Skip to the Search section of current page.|
|t||Skip to the Top section of current page.|
|c||Skip to the Content section of current page.|
|b||Skip to the Bottom section of current page.|
You can navigate to these different sections using your browser as follows:
|Internet Explorer 5+ (PC)||Hold down the ALT key, press the letter/number of the access key, release both keys then press ENTER.|
|Netscape 7 (PC)||Hold down the ALT key and press the letter/number of the access key.|
|Firefox, Mozilla (PC)||Hold down the ALT + SHIFT keys and press the letter/number of the access key.|
|Firefox, Mozilla (Mac)||Hold down the CTRL key and press the letter/number of the access key.|
|Safari (Mac)||Hold down the CTRL key and press the letter/number of the access key.|
|Opera||Hold down the Shift key and press Escape, release both keys, then press the letter/number of the access key.|
Please note that some assistive technology tools such as the IBM HomePage Reader and WindowEyes already make use of the alt+[access key] combinations. As such, users of these tools will not be able to use these access keys.
